Paws Protect is a service, operating in Bedfordshire, for people who are fleeing domestic abuse and need to find a temporary home for their pet cat.Paws Protect provides a free fostering service, taking care of cats until their owners are in a position to reclaim them. The cats referred will be health checked before going to the home of one of our foster carers, where they will be treated as a family pet.
Referrals are handled by our staffed Paws Protect Coordinator and Paws Protect Assistant through our referral line or via email

Paws Protect is Cats Protection’s temporary fostering service for people fleeing domestic abuse. We understand that pets can be a massive barrier to people leaving abusive environments, so we exist to help people leave for safety with the peace of mind that their beloved pets are safe. The cats stay in approved foster homes until their owners are ready to be reunited with them. The whole is service is free and confidential, and we are staffed by an experienced female only team, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
