Stepping Stones
Stepping Stones (Luton) is a registered charity which supports women who are experiencing challenges and/or trauma associated with domestic abuse, offending and/or substance misuse. They offer wraparound one to one practical and trauma-informed therapeutic support, and group programmes covering various areas including Own My Life, parenting, trauma, domestic abuse, anger, serenity and mental wellness. Stepping Stones works under contract with the Criminal Justice System to offer support and rehabilitation to women in contact with the Probation service, and they are also able to offer counselling through qualified volunteers and have funding to offer specialised mental health support. Registered as a Welcoming space in Luton, Stepping Stones provide a safe, welcoming, non-judgemental environment for women living in Luton and Central Bedfordshire, and an outreach service in other parts of the community. They are also unique in the area for having an Ofsted-registered childcare setting, which provides warm, nurturing care and activities for children for free whilst the parent or carer is accessing their service.
