Education Training and Employment Advisor
12 month fixed term contract – maternity cover
Are you passionate about supporting women to achieve their full potential and return to employment or access training opportunities? Do you have the skills, experience and aptitude to support women to get job ready?
Stepping Stones (Luton) is a local charity supporting women who have been victims of domestic abuse or are vulnerable due to substance misuse. We are looking to recruit a full time (37.5 hours a week) Education Training and Employment Advisor to join our team or support practitioners to help women to back into work or access education and/or training opportunities. We are looking for someone who has experience of supporting vulnerable adults in an education training and employment setting.
The role will predominantly work within Stepping Stones’ main office in Luton providing specialist one to one support to vulnerable women.
You may come from an educational background or another supportive role. You should be comfortable delivering interventions on a one to one basis and to groups.
Whatever your background, you’ll need to hit the ground running! The role is hugely rewarding, but busy and demanding so you’ll need to be able to manage your time well, be able to keep a calm head. It would be helpful to have a good knowledge of issues affecting women who have or are experiencing domestic abuse, substance misuse, safeguarding and social care procedures.
What’s most important though is that you’re able to motivate and inspire your clients, working collaboratively alongside colleagues and partner agencies to deliver great services day in day out.
