Support for survivors/victims of sexual assault

Sexual assault, rape and sexual violence should be reported to the police. If you decide that you you do not want to do that, you can still seek medical support to ensure that you are ok. You can contact services for emotional support too.

If you are a resident of Bedfordshire you can contact:

The Emerald Centre

The Emerald Centre (also known at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre – SARC) offers a comprehensive service for anyone living in Bedfordshire and Luton, who has experienced sexual violence or sexual abuse.

At the SARC, individuals will be offered support and guidance, a medical assessment/treatment, a forensic examination, and the opportunity of aftercare referrals for support services. Clients will be offered these services based on their individual needs and can choose to use as much or as little of our service as they wish.

Clients can access The Emerald Centre via the Police and other professionals, as well as by self-referring.  We strongly advise that if you require the SARC services or need advice, you contact them first on 01234 842750. For non-urgent queries, you can also email admin.emeraldcentre@nhs.net
