Intersectionality Women’s Programmes CIC (IWP)

IWP is a trauma-informed, survivor-led organisation supporting women and girls aged 14+ across Bedfordshire who have been impacted by domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence, particularly where experiences are shaped by intersecting barriers such as disability, ethnicity, neurodiversity, poverty, mental health, migration, caring responsibilities and social exclusion.

Using an intersectionality-informed, trauma-informed approach, IWP provides the “next step” beyond crisis support, helping women and girls rebuild confidence, improve wellbeing, develop skills, and progress into education, training, employment, volunteering, and greater independence.

Our programmes and support include:

  • Steps Forward® Programme, supporting women and girls to rebuild confidence, improve wellbeing, develop practical life skills, and progress towards education, training, employment, and greater independence.
  • Accredited qualifications and learning opportunities.
  • Employability, education, and progression support.
  • Confidence and wellbeing programmes.
  • Trauma-informed group programmes.
  • Skills development and pathways into education, training, employment, and volunteering.
  • Support for women and girls experiencing domestic abuse and multiple intersecting barriers.
